The thing with letting David loose in the garden, even under supervision, is that for every 3 plants in puts in, one is trampled to death! Is this a ploy?
The sun is out and so are the gardening tools, I have weeded around the garlic and onions, planted a border of seeds that are meant to keep the slugs at bay, we will see. I have also planted a row of Radish, spring onions and spinach. As you can see Pepper and Rue are just soaking up the sun. Pepper is sulking because she hasn't had any food for 2 days because she ate her way through 1/4 sack of dog food. The poor gate post finally gave up, so David removed the old post, concreted in a new one and I then repainted. The front garden fence is now looking fabulous. All that's needed is to plant out the border as a herb garden. I love the fact that someone thought it a good idea of plant a load of daffodils right smack in the middle of the garden. Thats Rue trying to hide behind them. The left over Willow I decided to use for an arch. I was going to plant the hedge all the way down by the steps, but you naturally want to step of them to walk round the garden, hence the Willow arch. I had added a Wisteria and we will see how it looks. I'm quite short so the arch is a perfect size for ME! This is the first dug border and I have seeded some wild flowers, just need a little patience. |
