What I have discovered is that there are 10 different species of Wisteria and the most common are Wisteria floribunda and Wisteria sinensis.
Wisteria floribunda is a Japanese Wisteria and the leaves and flowers appear at the same time, hence why my flowers are hidden. These Wisterias are best grown on a garden structure like a pergola where the racemes can hang down.
The latin floribunda means very free flowering.
Wisteria sinensis is from China and it produces flowers before the leaves, this species is suitable to be grown against a wall.
The latin sinuses means China.
